A Finnish Arctic platform
for testing, validation and operations

SARA operates in the European White Desert — Finnish Lapland on the Arctic Circle. Many technologies work well in controlled environments. The real question is whether they perform when conditions become cold, remote, complex and operationally relevant. For mission-critical systems, a successful demonstration is not enough — they need evidence. SARA Center supports structured test, validation, demonstration and operational readiness activities across air, land, water and built environments.

The purpose is not only to test individual technologies, but to understand how systems, teams and procedures perform together in demanding real-world conditions.
Operating region: Rovaniemi, Sodankylä, Savukoski, Kemijärvi and Kemi.

Partner with SARA
Cold, Snow & Darkness
Cold affects batteries, materials and endurance. Snow, ice and darkness affect sensing and mobility. The Arctic reveals what normal testing does not.
Distance & Infrastructure
Distance and limited infrastructure affect logistics. Communications and navigation limits affect autonomy. In the Arctic, assumptions become visible.
Evidence, Not Demonstrations
Customers, investors and public-sector users increasingly require proof from realistic environments. Real Arctic conditions reveal performance limits that laboratories cannot.
TEST
Technology performance in real Arctic conditions
VALIDATE
Documented evidence for decisions & market entry
DEMONSTRATE
Structured demonstrations for partners & end-users
PREPARE
Operational readiness for teams & procedures

How SARA
creates value

Service 01
Test & Validation
Technology performance in demanding Arctic conditions. Cold, snow, darkness and limited infrastructure reveal performance limits that laboratories cannot — producing documented evidence that supports decisions, customers and market entry.
Service 02
Demonstration & Access
Structured demonstrations for relevant partners and end-users. Bring your customers to the Arctic and show your systems performing in real operating conditions — with the surrounding infrastructure and arrangements handled for you.
Service 03
Operational Readiness Training
Preparing people, teams, procedures and support chains for Arctic operations. In demanding conditions, technology and human operating capability must be developed together: Arctic readiness = technology + people + procedures + logistics.
Service 04
Capability Bridge
Connecting selected technologies, ecosystems and use cases. SARA is not a generic reseller — we identify relevant needs, structure trusted introductions and build the right validation, demonstration, soft-landing or cooperation pathway into Nordic and European markets.
Environment
Multi-Domain Arctic Platform
One coordinated platform across air, land, water and built environments: UAVs and autonomous aviation, ground robotics and field operations, cold-water and air–water operating concepts, and GNSS-limited indoor/outdoor autonomy in a dedicated 6,000 m² building complex.
Coordination
Turnkey Campaign Support
SARA coordinates test environments, permissions, local operators, logistics and field support — with weather, data and measurement expertise and safety planning built in. Accommodation, catering and transport handled, so your team can focus on the mission.

One coordinated pathway
to operational evidence

Step 01
Scope
Define the validation question and success criteria together.
Step 02
Plan
SARA coordinates environments, permissions, local operators and logistics.
Step 03
Execute
A structured test, validation or demonstration campaign in real Arctic conditions.
Step 04
Evidence
Documented results supporting decisions, customers and market entry.

From technical promise to operational proof — through one coordinated pathway.
